Battle Creek Revolution News Release
Game Rewind
Saturday Night's Main Event
The Battle Creek Revolution were home for their lone hockey game of the week against the hated rival the West Michigan Blizzard. The Revolution entertained their fans with a game that will be remembered as the start of a war in Revolution Arena that will see many battles left for the 2009-2010 season.
The Revolution got on the board on a power play goal in the first period by Joel Gerbe with an assist from Nick Bet and Charles Harvey. They scored again in the second period on a Charles Harvey goal with Gerbe and Todd Mcllrath drawing the helpers. The Blizzard then got on the board with AJ Sanders lighting the lamp and Emery Louse and Justin Todd drawing the assists. Pat Doyle tied the game at two just seconds later with Nigel Hawryliw and Rich Jundo scoring the helpers. It didn't take long for Rich Jundo to start the war with an illegal and dirty hit on Joel Gerbe that started a line brawl that saw Mason Cossette and Chase Tipin come of the bench to join the fight.
The Blizzard didn't take long to net their short lived lead of the night with a goal from Cameron Sault with help from Hawryliw and Sanders. The Revolution tied it up at three all with a goal from Todd Mcllrath and Ryan Bond on the assist. Marco Trevino became a man child by taking control of the game in the third period by scoring his first of two goals with Mcllrath and Bet on the assists. Kye Moje then light the lamp for a two goal lead with Trevino and Harvey on the assists. Then Trevino iced the game completing a three point night on his way to being the number one star with help from Bond and Shawn McNulty closing out the Revolution goal scoring. Rich Jundo then light the lamp for the Blizzard with help from Doyle.
The Revolution skated to a 6-4 win over the Blizzard regaining a five point lead over the Evansville Icemen in the standings for second place. The Revolution locker room will be looking for some revenge this weekend at the LC Walker Arena for the hit on goal scorer Joel Gerbe from behind by Rich Jundo.
