Returning Locos Running Back Dorsey Wins Player Of Week 3 Award
Published on October 5, 2010 under United Football League (UFL 1) News Release
JACKSONVILLE, FL - Tuesday, October 5, 2010 - A record-setting running back and a dominating defensive end from the Las Vegas Locos took UFL Player of Week 3 awards and the pair now lie in wait for the unbeaten Omaha Nighthawks at Sam Boyd Stadium this Friday.
DEDE DORSEY marked his return to the Las Vegas Locos with an impressive rushing and receiving performance, while defensive end ERIC HENDERSON became the UFL career sack leader in a 20-17 Week 3 victory over the Florida Tuskers.
Dorsey will run head on into the defense of the unbeaten Omaha Nighthawks this Friday at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas and Henderson will aim to add visiting quarterback JEFF GARCIA to his growing list of sack victims in a game shown live on HDNet at 7pm local time / 10pm EDT.
Dorsey goes up against linebacker NICK GREISEN, who has led the Nighthawks in consecutive weeks with 16.5 total tackles and will also have to navigate his way past former Indianapolis Colts linebacker CATO JUNE in an intriguing battle. Henderson faces a Nighthawks offensive line that in protecting Garcia has only allowed one sack in each game this season.
Dorsey had arguably the best individual single-game performance in United Football League history in Week 3, setting many new UFL standards in the Locomotives' win over the Tuskers. In his first game back with the team after an NFL training camp stint with the Detroit Lions, Dorsey became the first UFL player to both run (99 yards) and catch (105 yards) for more than 90 yards in a game. The MVP of the 2009 UFL Championship Game became the first UFL running back with a 100-yard receiving game and broke the UFL single-game all-purpose yards record (204).

United Football League Players of Week 3
Offense - DeDe Dorsey, RB, Las Vegas Locos
Defense - Eric Henderson, DE, Las Vegas Locos
Special Teams - Tom Malone, P, Sacramento Mountain Lions
Locos defensive end Henderson, the UFL sack co-leader in 2009, recorded a pair of sacks to go with two solo tackles and a forced fumble in the Locos' 20-17 win in Week 3 at Florida. Henderson's three sacks in 2009 were tied for the league lead and his five career sacks represent a UFL career record.
Henderson entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2006 and was on Cincinnati's roster in the 2006 and 2008 campaigns, playing in two regular season games in 2008 and registering 2 tackles. He set a Georgia Tech record by notching 59.5 tackles for losses during his college career.
Sacramento Mountain Lions punter TOM MALONE set a new UFL single-game record for punts downed inside the 20-yard line with four in the Mountain Lions' 20-17 loss in Week 3 at Omaha. Four of his seven overall punts pinned the Nighthawks deep, and his eight punts inside the 20 so far this season already ties the UFL single-season record.
Malone played briefly for the New York Sentinels during the 2009 UFL campaign having spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots and in NFL Europe with the Berlin Thunder following a stellar college career at USC.
