Renegades Named to 2004 All Star Team

Alabama Renegades News Release


Eight Alabama Renegades have been honored by the coaches of the National Women's Football Association (NWFA) by being named to the First Team All Stars of the Gulf Coast Division. Five players were named to the Second Team All Stars.

The Renegades named to the First Team Offense were Katy Buckley at wide receiver, and Shana Hammond and Ashley Moody at offensive line.

On the First Team Defense the coaches poll named Nancy Chillers and Danielle Hendrix on the defensive line, Vicki Kennedy at linebacker, and Sonya Massey at defensive back. Kicker Tammy Wissel was named as the divisions top kicker on special teams.

Running back Nicole Nall, fullback Teresa Finley, and tight end Wendy Everett were named to the Second Team Offense. Bird Gholston at linebacker and Nikie Hunter at defensive back were named to the Second Team Defense.

The Renegades finished second in the Gulf Coast Division last year after finishing with a record of 5-3. As one of the two inaugural teams in the NWFA, the Renegades will begin their fifth season of play in April 2005.
