MONTGOMERY, AL - The Biscuits (62-53/26-21) scored two runs in the eighth inning for their third lead of the night and held off the Generals (67-49/25-21) for a 6-4 win Thursday night at Riverwalk.

With the game tied at four in the eighth inning, Mikie Mahtook led off with a double for his third hit of the night. Two batters later, Derek Dietrich, who made a costly error in the previous frame to allow the Generals to tie the game, pulled a ground ball into right-field to score the go-ahead run. Omar Luna would follow with an RBI-double to give the Biscuits a 6-4 lead.

Kirby Yates (3-2) earned the win for the second-consecutive night. Yates pitched an 1.2 innings collecting all five outs via the strikeout. The final strikeout was by Joe Dunigan who represented the potential go-ahead run in the ninth.

The Generals jumped out in front with a two-run home run from Brad Miller in the second inning. The Biscuits would go on to grab their first lead of the night after an RBI-single from Mahtook in the fourth. Later in the inning, with runners on the corners, Luna hit a dribbler back to the mound that James Gillheeney threw away, allowing both runs to score and giving the Biscuits a 3-2 lead.

Mark Thomas ripped a solo shot in the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie. The Generals would tie the game for the second time on Dietrich's error in the eighth.

The Biscuits will go for their third-consecutive win when they face off with the Generals at 7:05 Friday night. LHP C.J. Riefenhouser will start for Montgomery while Jackson will have RHP Brandon Maurer on the mound.
