Rebels Release 2016-17 Schedule

The reining North American Hockey League East Division champions Aston Rebels have announce the 2016-17 regular season schedule. The team will play a total of 60 regular season games, including four during the league's annual showcase in September. The Rebels will play each division opponent 12 times during the season (six home and six away).

The Rebels will open up the season on the road against new division rival Northeast Generals on September 16 and 17. The team then will travel to Blaine, MN to play in the league's annual showcase beginning on Wednesday, September 21 and concluding on Saturday, September 24. Showcase opponents will be announced by the league at a later date during the summer.

The team's home opener will take place on Friday, September 30 against the Generals. The team will unveil its division championship banner before the game.

Most of the Rebels home games will be played on Friday and Saturday. However, there is one Monday game (Columbus Day, October 10) and three Sunday games (October 9, November 20 and December 18).

The Rebels will play both Alaska teams at home on January 6 and 7 against league champion Fairbanks Ice Dogs (play a Wednesday, January 11 away game against New Jersey) and then on January 13 and 14 play against the Kenai River Brown Bears. The Rebels then immediately fly out to play the Alaska teams at the end of January.

The Rebels final regular season home game (Fan Appreciation Night) will take place on Friday, March 31 against the New Jersey Titans. The regular season will conclude on Saturday, April 8 when the Rebels visit the Johnstown Tomahawks. A promotional schedule will be released shortly.
