Since that win the team has gone 0-6-3 scoring 9 goals and giving up 15. The club's last match was a 1-2 loss to Arizona United on June 27. In that match Real gave up a goal in the 54th minute when defenders Riley McGovern and Emilio Orozco double-teamed Dennis Chin who made a dangerous run to the outside and left Long Tan open to score his third goal in three matches. However, as has happened too often this season, the visitors gave up a stoppage-time goal robbing them of a point.

Sacramento Republic FC (9-6-2, 29 points, 2nd West) enters Wednesday's match after battling to a 0-0 draw with the Austin Aztex on June 27. Monarchs History v Sacramento Republic FC

Real Monarchs and Sacramento Republic FC have met twice this season - home and away. On April 29 the Monarchs notched its first and only win of the season when FW Max Rauhofer scored the game winner in the 68th minute after deflecting a shot from MF Fito Ovalle and redirecting it beyond GK Patrick McLain. GK Lalo Fernandez earned his second shutout of the season with three saves on the night.

Salt Lake traveled to Sacramento on May 30 where the club earned a point after battling to a 1-1 draw. The match came near the end of a stretch of 6 games in 19 days for the Monarchs, including U.S. Open Cup and USL league action. Real struck first when MF Ricardo Velazco earned a penalty kick in the 6th minute of play and the team-leading goal scorer Max Rauhofer easily slotted it home for the lead. The lead wouldn't last long as David Estrada found himself wide open in the box and nicked the game equalizer in the 18th minute.

Capital City Cup

Wednesday will be Real Monarchs SLC's fifth match in the Capital City Cup, a supporters-group competition between the five state capital-teams in the Western Conference. Monarchs hold a 1-2-1 record in the competition, defeating Sacramento Republic FC on April 29, falling to the Austin Aztex on May 9, drawing with Sacramento Republic FC on May 30, and falling to Arizona United SC on June 27.
