Reading, PA - August 6, 2007 - The Reading Railers, a charter team of the Premier Basketball League (PBL), has scheduled two dates for tryouts for their inaugural season.

Men 18 years and older interested in competing for one of 15 spots on the team can attend either date/location. Each session will begin at 9:00 am and conclude by 3:00 pm:

There is a $100 registration fee for all participants. The top players from each tryout will be invited to the Railers official training camp in November. Practices for team members will begin in mid-to-late November, with a preseason exhibition game on December 15 at the Sovereign Center. The season runs from January through April 2008 with 12 home, 12 away and 2 exhibition games. Players will receive salaries.

The Premier Basketball League was founded in 2007 to offer professional minor-league basketball at affordable prices with an emphasis on community involvement, according to Kay Magee, Reading Railers Owner and Manager. "We look forward to bringing quality players to the Railers and developing a top-notch team for the Reading and surrounding communities," says Magee.
