June 10, 2003 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Vancouver Ravens News Release

In this week's Ravens Insider, we're pleased to share with you some of the initiatives that are already in motion as part of our plans for the 2003-2004 National Lacrosse League season at General Motors Place.

As indicated in our Season Ticket renewal letter of last month, we have officially declared to the National Lacrosse League our intentions for the 2003-2004 regular season and have launched plans to ensure it is our strongest season yet, both on and off the floor.

You'll find below a partial transcript of a media release from Tuesday, June 3 in which we're proud to announce a joint season ticket marketing campaign with the British Columbia Lacrosse Association and its member minor associations from throughout the province, along with our plans to bring back the BC Top 50 Ticket Donation program, the 50/50 raffle fund-raiser for the BCLA at our home games at General Motors Place and the upcoming Paul Dal Monte Ravens SuperCamp, Saturday, June 21st, at Bill Copeland Arena in Burnaby.

You'll also find information on another initiative designed to create excitement for minor lacrosse players province-wide: The RavenIDOL 2004.

We'll keep you posted on developments throughout the summer, as we began our Spirit Tour 2003 last weekend, with player appearances at events throughout the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and throughout the province. There will be considerable news as we prepare for our NLL Entry Draft -- in which we currently have two first-round draft picks, including first overall from the New Jersey Storm -- and as the NLL takes on new allies from the world of sport.

The first announcement will take place today in San Jose, where it will be announced the the Albany Attack are relocating to the west coast for the 2003-2004 NLL season. The team will be party-owned and fully-operated by the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League and will give the NLL its fourth western franchise. On behalf of all of us associated with the Vancouver Ravens, we welcome these developments as they will only strengthen and increase the profile of the NLL and lacrosse throughout the league.

Thanks again for your support of the Ravens.

Tom Mayenknecht, Governor
Vancouver Ravens Lacrosse Club
