Tampa Bay Storm News Release
CHICAGO - The Arizona Rattlers (8-1) are in the top spot in this week's Coaches' Poll for the third straight week following a 56-49 victory over the Chicago Rush (4-5) in Week 9.
Even a fever of 102 could not slow down Rattlers quarterback Nick Davila last week. The fourth-year pro threw seven touchdowns in Week 9 and has not thrown an interception during Arizona's current five game winning streak. The defending champs will be back in action on Saturday, May 25, when they host the Iowa Barnstormers (4-5). Kickoff is set for 9:00 p.m. ET.
The San Jose SaberCats (6-2) continued their strong play since acquiring quarterback Russ Michna in mid-April and received one first place vote in this week's Poll. The former Chicago Rush signal caller has led the SaberCats to four straight wins and threw his 300th career touchdown pass in San Jose's 57-36 win over the Jacksonville Sharks (6-3) in Week 9.
The Tampa Bay Storm (6-3) jumped to three in this week's Coaches' Poll after a 62-34 victory over the Pittsburgh Power (2-6) in Week 9. The Storm will play in front of a national audience again this week when they host the sixth-ranked Philadelphia Soul (4-4) in "NET10 Wireless Arena Football Saturday" on CBS Sports Network. Kickoff for that game is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 25.
The Spokane Shock (6-3) snapped a three-game losing streak to stay at No. 4 in this week's Coaches' Poll. Spokane defeated New Orleans (1-7), 65-54, behind 353 passing yards and six touchdown passes from Shock quarterback Eric Meyer. The Shock will take on the San Antonio Talons on Friday, May 17. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET. The Talons are ranked eighth in this week's Coaches' Poll after being unranked last week.
Following their Week 9 loss at home to San Jose, the Jacksonville Sharks dropped from three to five in this week's Coaches' Poll, but still received a first place vote. Jacksonville will try to end their three-game losing streak when they travel to Orlando to face the 2-6 Predators. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 25.
