ATHENS, GA - The Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) is ecstatic to announce an expansion team for the upcoming season in North Carolina.
Raleigh will join the league's Southern Division. With the addition of the Raleigh, the Southern Division is now at five teams. The previously announced expansion teams in the newly formed division are the Rome (GA) Rampage, Florida Tarpons along with Tupelo, MS and East Ridge, TN.
"With the addition of this market, our vision as it relates to growth is starting to come to fruition," said UIFL President Andrew Haines. "It's been a slow, but gratifying process."
Raleigh's organization will call the 5,100-seat J.S. Dorton Arena home. The names and logos, along with the ownership, will be announced at a later date.
