
Racers Look to Extend Streak into Tournament Play

Portland, OR-The number 3 seed Elgin Racers will match up against the 6th seed Grand Rapids Flight in the first round of the International Basketball League East Region Playoff tournament.
The East Region Playoffs will be held at North Side Gym in Elkhart, Indiana June 29 - July 1.
The West Region Playoffs will be on the same weekend in Portland, Oregon at Warner Pacific College.

Elgin Racers (15-5)- Elgin was dominant down the stretch, racing to wins in 10 of their last 12 games-including two victories over powerhouse Elkhart. The Racers posted a 9-1 mark at home this season. DeAnthony Bowden has been an outstanding performer for Elgin since joining the squad mid-way through the season. The explosive Bowden is averaging 32.4 points per game. Elgin will face the Grand Rapids Flight in the first round of the playoffs on Friday, June 29 at 4:00pm. Grand Rapids Flight (5-17)- The Flight's regular season came to a close with Friday's loss to Marysville. Grand Rapids played arguably the toughest schedule in the league this season. The battle tested Flight have added 2006 IBL All Star Jared Bledsoe to the roster to bolster the line-up in the playoffs. Flight center Sun Ming Ming, at 7'9", is the tallest basketball player on the planet. Sun, who scored a career high 19 points in his last outing, will make an appearance in the upcoming motion picture âRush Hour 3'.
