R. Ruby Richman Named Chairman of WBC Executive Committee

Indianapolis, IN. R. Ruby Richman, a Toronto-based attorney, has been named Chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Basketball Cup, (www.worldbasketballcup.com), a tournament scheduled for August 2010 featuring 64 international professional basketball teams in Atlanta, Georgia.

"We are extremely pleased and proud to have Ruby join the WBC management team," stated ABA/WBC CEO, Joe Newman. "I know of no person in sports with a wider or more distinguished background than Ruby. His experience worldwide is second to none, truly an amazing individual. Here are just a few of his accomplishments:

Coach of the Canadian National Basketball team in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo

Coach of the Canadian National Basketball team in the 1967 Pan American Games in Winnipeg

Coach of the 1968 Canadian National Basketball team i1968 in Mexico (did not qualify)

Player for the Canadian National Basketball Team in the 1964 Olympics, played in 5 Maccabiah Games, won 2 Canadian championships, 5 Ontario championship as a player for the Toronto Dow Kings,

Captain of the University of Toronto Blues.

Currently, he is the President/CEO of Canadian International Sports Management; President/CEO of International Sports Productions; President/CEO of Cadillac Consulting Group (Management consultants involved in business development and financial consulting, worldwide marketing and promotion of sport events, entertainment and gaming development.

He is also President/CEO of Three R Holdings, LTD (involved in land assembly and land development, real estate consultants, arranging financing for property acquisitions and was one of the Founders of the World Masters Games in the '80, a group involved in the development of concept and the operation of GAMES including negotiating and obtaining funding from three levels of government, developing corporate marketing and sponsorship, preparation of promotional material, staging of international multi-sport event and cultural events, forming and managing 26 sports programs and committees, over 4,000 volunteers, 400 paid staff, 8,600 participants from 61 countries.

Ruby has been the Canadian Representative for FIBA, COPABA, IMGC (International Maccabiah Games Association, GAISF (International Federation of Sports), WMGA (World Masters Games Association),

WCG (World Corporate Games), WSG (World Senior Games), MIBA (Masters International Basketball Association).

He has also been President of Basketball Canada, the Ontario Basketball Association, Sport Federation of Canada, Sports Ontario, Director of Canadian Olympic Association, World Senior Games, and Chairman of Olympic Basketball and as been inducted into the Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame as a player, coach and builder, has received Special Achievement Awards from the Sport Federation of Canada, Province of Ontario, Toronto JCC, and the Potter Trophy as the MVP of the University of Toronto's basketball team in 1958.

Ruby received degrees in Commerce, Finance and Law from the University of Toronto; Marketing and Communications from Georgian College and is a Certified General Accountant (Third Year Standing).

"The World Basketball Cup tournament is long overdue," stated Richman. "There are so many great professional teams worldwide that never get an opportunity to compete on a world stage. They are deserving of recognition and we hope to draw 64 great teams representing many countries to the first tournament. The other members of the Executive Committee are all experience businessmen and sportsmen - and working together, we hope to make the World Basketball Cup one of the premiere professional tournaments in the world. We have a lot of work - but we are up to the task."
