Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Tuesday that the club agreed to terms of a two-year contract with free agent DE R-Kal Truluck. As per Chiefs policy, no further terms of the agreement were disclosed.
Truluck (6-4, 270) comes to Kansas City after spending the previous two seasons (2001-02) with the Detroit Fury of the Arena Football League. He led the Arena League with 9.0 sacks in 2002 and ranked second in the AFL with 8.5 sacks for the Fury in 2001. Prior to his stint in the Arena League, he appeared in 38 games during his three seasons ('98-00) for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. He produced 106 tackles (101 solo) with 11.0 QB takedowns (-57.0 yards). The veteran defensive lineman attended training camp with Washington in '97 before being released prior to the season.
The Brooklyn, New York native started 27 of 35 games at State University of New York College at Cortland. He produced 238 tackles (121 solo), 18.0 sacks and nine blocked kicks.
