Q: How is the AFL different now from when you first started?

BROWN: I think the talent level is much better now and guys are taking the League more seriously. Back when I first started, it was more of a time to get away for the summer and make a little bit of money and have some fun. Now, guys are taking it very seriously. You really have to prepare yourself to play now and you can't just show up. You have to go months before the season starts to get ready if you want to be competitive.

Q: What was your most embarrassing moment in the AFL?

BROWN: I really don't have one. It has been a great situation me. I have never experienced (embarrassment), but I think that's because I never took playing in the AFL for granted. When I first time came into the League, I was serious about getting a job and starting a career for myself.

Q: What was your greatest moment in the AFL?

BROWN: I have had a lot of them. I think winning the ArenaBowl (XIII in 1999) was a great moment. Another great moment was my nomination to the 10th Anniversary All-Arena team, named as the offensive specialist alongside Kurt Warner (at quarterback). That was a really great moment.

Q: How do you prepare yourself for the AFL during the offseason?

BROWN: Just staying in shape. I lift weights three times a week for the first couple of months after the season. I don't do anything strenuous, just toning. I do things like that and then come September I will start working with my trainer four times a week and two hours a day. I just maintain my body so when the season comes I am not out of shape. If the season comes and I am not ready, the coach will just run me out of there.
