Pueblo becomes sixth AAPBL team

December 9, 2004 - All American Professional Basketball League (AAPBL) News Release


(Pueblo, Co) - Wyoming businessman, Worth Christie announced that Pueblo, Colorado will become the sixth member of the All-American Professional Basketball League. Prior to today's announcement the AAPBL, with its league office in Casper, Wyoming, had introduced teams in Casper, Wyoming, Billings, Butte and Great Falls, Montana and Lincoln, Nebraska. Agreements are in place in two more cities with an announcement on the seventh city scheduled for Thursday and the eight teams announcement coming soon after that.

Set to tip-off their inaugural season in November, 2005 the league will include eight to 10 teams and a slate of 56 regular season games at a minimum, half of which will be played in the Colorado State Fairgrounds Arena. The league will conclude its regular season in March with playoffs to be concluded in early April of 2006.

Fans of the AAPBL will be treated to a high level of professional basketball and exciting promotional events unlike most seen in any other minor league. After each night AAPBL fans will leave arenas entertained win or lose and ready to come to the next home game.

All AAPBL teams will be managed by the league office for the first two years of the leagues existence with an office and full staff in each of the league's cities. The league is currently discussing local ownership in each of the teams cities. After the first two years of league play local ownership will take over their team's operation.
