
Propane Leak Suspends Panthers-Majors Game in Fifth Inning

LONDON - The London Majors' home opener Friday was suspended in the fifth inning after a propane leak resulted in the evacuation of Labatt Park. London trailed Kitchener 5-4 in the top of the inning. It will be resumed prior to their next scheduled game June 10. The teams' regularly scheduled game will begin 30-45 minutes after the first game's completion and will be seven innings.
Jean cycles as Cards hammer Red Sox HAMILTON - Luis Jean hit for the cycle to lead the Hamilton Cardinals to an 11-1 win over Brantford Friday night at Arnold Anderson Stadium. Jean doubled in the first inning and, after a strikeout and walk, singled in the fifth, tripled to lead off the eighth and hit a two-run blast in the ninth. Justin Gideon went 3-for-4 with four RBI, Tristan Osika doubled, tripled and drove in a run while scoring three times, Laine Renaud hit a solo home run, Anthony Buonaiuto drove in a run and Jeremie Veilleux went 2-for-5 with an RBI. Ben Braun (1-0) picked up the win with six shutout innings. He scattered two hits while walking three and fanning five. Red Sox starter Bennett Moore (0-1) allowed five runs on six hits with three walks and five strikeouts. Colton Fountain drove in Brantford's lone run in the eighth with an RBI groundout.
