Professional Lacrosse Steams into Reading

The Reading Rockets, a proud member of the Professional Lacrosse League, are pleased to announce their entrance as an inaugural franchise for the 2012 season. The team will play at the Sovereign Center in Reading beginning in September.
The Rockets add to the great professional sports landscape of Reading, joining the Reading Phillies (baseball), the Reading Royals (hockey) and the currently dormant Reading Express (football). The ownership group, headed by New Jersey-based Ted Glynn, is excited about the opportunities that Reading brings.
"The City of Reading and the Sovereign Center are ideal partners for our league and our team," said Glynn. "The area's history of supporting professional sports, and the proximity to areas with strong lacrosse ties makes Reading a perfect fit for us," he added.
The Professional Lacrosse League (PLL) begins its inaugural season in September 2012 with teams in Trenton, NJ, Charlotte, NC, and Jacksonville, FL. Other expansion teams are also planned.
The team will be holding a press conference to officially announce the team on August 1, 2012 at10 am in the Sovereign Center lobby in Reading. The press conference will be followed by a meet and greet.
