Des Moines Heat News Release

The International Basketball League has announced that the Des Moines Heat will not play in the 2006 IBL season. This reduces the number of teams that will play in the 2006 season from 26 teams to 25 teams.

IBL League Commissioner "in 2005 the Des Moines team was 8 and 2 at home and finished the season with a winning record-a basic formula in most markets for a jump in support-but the new ownership group did not see any jump in support".
