Preston Popp Joins RNY FC

In a recent article, comparisons were made between RNYFC's new signing Preston Popp and his new boss, Jamie Vardy. Popp, who enjoyed a stellar college career with Charlotte 49ers was last year's Conference USA golden boot winner, and it was this knack for scoring goals that brought him to the attention of his new club.

Head coach Bruno Baltazar noted how:

"Preston has the skills and the rare instinct of scoring goals. He can be lethal and ruthless inside the box and the team will need that".

Popp will join up with his new teammates in a few weeks time and is raring to go.

He stated that he was:

"Super excited and honored to be joining RNYFC to start my professional career. After talks with the club and technical staff, it was clear to me that this was the perfect fit and place I wanted to be. We share the same ambitions and goals, which I am confident we can achieve together. I can't wait to get to Rochester to meet the fans and get started."

Rochester New York FC has signed center forward Preston Popp to an MLS NEXT Pro PROFESSIONAL contract, pending league and U.S. Soccer Federation approval, in addition to his ITC and work authorization.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
