June 2, 2023 - Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) News Release
LOS ANGELES - The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) powered by Ticketmaster today announced record-setting growth across its owned and operated content channels ahead of the league's fifth season.
In the first half of 2023, the league has seen 146 percent growth in social engagement year-over-year, marking its highest performing quarters for engagement in league history, including the league's most social media engagements in a single week during the PLL Championship Series in February 2023. By year end, the PLL is projected to reach a league high 1.34 billion impressions across channels.
"Momentum is with lacrosse right now. Fans globally are engaging with our sport, and it shows in our league's growth across channels," said Paul Rabil, co-founder and president of the Premier Lacrosse League. "Since our inception, we've centered our business and content on our players and their connection to our fans. Our success in the first half of 2023 is a reflection of that commitment."
To date in 2023, the PLL has seen;
39 million engagements, a 146 percent increase year-over year.
330 million views, a 186 percent increase year-over-year.
490 million impressions, an 80 percent increase year-over-year.
By the end of 2023, the league is projected to reach;
104 million engagements

1.34 billion impressions
The record-setting growth comes as the PLL prepares to assign its eight lacrosse clubs to home cities in 2024. This season, PLL games will air on linear broadcast on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN+ each weekend of its season through its media-rights deal with ESPN, the largest in lacrosse history.
The 2023 PLL season kicks off in Albany, NY, June 3-4 with games aired on ABC and ESPN+ each day. Redwoods vs. Atlas, the opening game of the season, will air on ABC on June 3 at 1pm, followed by Cannons vs. Archers on ESPN+ at 3:30pm ET. On June 4, a rematch of the 2022 Championship Game between Chaos and the Waterdogs will air on ABC at 1pm ET, followed by Whipsnakes vs. Chrome on ESPN+ at 3:30pm ET.
