Premier Basketball League Welcomes Buffalo Stampede

(Chicago, IL) - The Premier Basketball League (PBL) announced the acceptance into the league of the Buffalo Stampede, with that team commencing play in the 2008-09 PBL season. The NexxNow/Buffalo Dragons will continue to push forward with the PBL's international initiatives in China, while working to finalize international competition for the 2010 season.

"It was a smart business decision, and all parties involved thought it was best for the city of Buffalo," said PBL Chief Executive Officer Thomas E. Doyle. "This move allows the NexxNow/Buffalo Dragons to focus on the successful ongoing initiatives in China, while the Buffalo Stampede will provide an exciting product for basketball fans in Buffalo."

"This is a win-win situation," commented PBL Chairman of the Board Dr. Severko Hrywnak. "NexxNow/Dragons owner Todd Wier is making great strides in China, and Buffalo Pro Hoops President Vincent Lesh is putting together a top-notch organization in Buffalo. It will be great for the PBL and great for the City of Buffalo."
