Premier Basketball League to Invest in New Arena
April 17, 2008 - Premier Basketball League (PBL) News Release
(Chicago, IL)... As reported in today's Washington Post, a new sports and entertainment arena proposed for Montgomery County Maryland, was awarded to Rockville-based D&A Sports and Entertainment Group, headed by Premier Basketball League President and Chief Executive Officer Thomas E. Doyle.
The Premier Basketball League is a major investor in the project along with Belknap Development Corporation of Chicago, IL. "As the PBL expands it reach, we are also focusing on other ventures thus adding additional value to the league and our markets," stated Doyle.
PBL Chairman of the Board and President and CEO of Belknap Development Corporation Dr. Severko Hrywnak noted, "As the Premier Basketball League expands, we will be actively seeking to invest in other arenas within the U.S. and abroad."
With nearly a million residents in Montgomery County the appeal of an arena is considerable and a preliminary report on the proposal's feasibility suggested that Montgomery's demographics and market conditions would support a mid-sized arena.
