Pre-season Game: Orlando Aces Versus Puerto Rico

August 5, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Las Vegas Aces News Release

Orlando, FL. After much deliberation and discussion, the date is established. The location is confirmed. The players are ready to battle. Let the game begin! On September 30th, the ABA Orlando Aces will live up to the mission of the ABA by bringing exciting, fan-friendly, family-oriented entertainment to the Central Florida community. They will host a pre-season game against the Puerto Rico Tiburones. (Tiburones is the Spanish term for sharks).

When given the chance to collaborate and plan such a phenomenal event with Rafael Angulo, Orlando Aces owner and Head Coach Todd Triplett enthusiastically accepted the challenge. "Playing against great players from Puerto Rico will be a learning experience for myself as well as our players. The benefits are unlimited. We will interact on the basketball court in a competitive manner exchanging techniques and strategies. In addition, we will have the opportunity to serve as an example to the community by promoting an awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity. This preseason game is simply one way of showing that for the Orlando Aces, it's more than just a game...it's a total experience," said Coach Triplett.

Angula and business partner Dennis Rivera feel confident that they have put together a competitive team. It is a strong possibility that the Puerto Rican team will be coached by Ray Amalbert, who has over 25 years of coaching experience with championship teams throughout Puerto Rico or Coach Carlos Morales, former National Coach of Puerto Rico.

The game will be held at the Orlando Downtown Recreation Complex located at 649 W. Livingston Street, Orlando, Florida 32801. Tip-off will start at 4:30 p.m. General admission is $5.00.
