The Pittsburgh Power announced the assigning of 6'3", 343-pound defensive lineman Callahan Bright.
Callahan Bright was highly recruited out of High School, ranking as the 14th best player at signing day and the second ranked defensive tackle. Bright initially committed to Florida State prior to attending Shaw University. In 2009, his final season at Shaw, Bright totaled 48 tackles, including one sack and 7.5 tackles for losses. A powerful force, able to maintain a low center of gravity, Bright demonstrated his strength by benching 225 lbs. 31 times at a pre - NFL draft pro day. Bright played for the Philadelphia Soul and New Orleans Voodoo in 2011.
"Callahan is a bull," remarked Power head coach Chris Siegfried, "He has the tools to be an elite lineman in this league."
The Power also announced increased local television coverage. Twelve games, including seven home dates and five away matchups will appear on WPCW, Pittsburgh's CW, in addition to the four games airing nationally on the NFL network. More information is available at www.PittsburghPowerFootball.com.
