
Playoff Round One Players of the Week Announced

Omaha, NE - Chris Dixon, Ron Rockett, and David Daniels have been selected as United Indoor Football (UIF) players of the week for their play in round 1 of the UIF playoffs.
Dixon, quarterback for the Billings Outlaws, is being honored as Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in last week's game. In Billings' 47-30 win over the Omaha Beef, he completed 16 of 21 passes for 145 yards and four touchdown passes. Dixon added 55 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown to finish his evening with 200 yards of total offense and five total touchdowns. He currently leads the Outlaws in both of the rushing and passing categories. Playing in all fifteen games this season, Dixon has thrown for 3,027 yards and 67 touchdowns while also rushing for 437 yards and eight touchdowns. This weekend, he and his teammates will travel to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to take on the Sioux Falls Storm in the Western Conference Championship game to be played Saturday evening at the Sioux Falls Arena.
Rockett, defensive back for the RiverCity Rage, has been tabbed as Defensive Player of the Week. Last weekend, in the Rage's 37-33 win over the Sioux City Bandits, he tallied a team-high 12 tackles and also broke up a pass. So far this season, Rockett is second on the team with his 97 tackles and has made 2.5 tackles, intercepting two passes and broken up eight passes on the year. This weekend, he and his teammates will hit the road and face the Bloomington Extreme in the Eastern Conference Championship game Monday evening at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
Daniels, running back for the RiverCity Rage, is being honored with Special Teams Player of the Week. In RiverCity's 37-33 win over the Sioux City Bandits, he returned three kickoffs for 115 yards, which included a 54-yard return for a touchdown. In addition to his return prowess, he rushed seven times for 25 yards and also caught a pass. This season, Daniels leads the Rage with 282 rushing yards while also catching 18 passes for 107 yards and returning 10 kicks for 272 yards. This weekend, he and his teammates will hit the road and face the Bloomington Extreme in the Eastern Conference Championship game Monday evening at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
