(Casper, WY) - Today, the Wyoming Golden Eagles of the All American Professional Basketball League announced Hernando Planells, Jr. as Vice President of Basketball Operations.

Planells comes to the Golden Eagles with a reputation for having a keen eye for talent. Included in Planells experience is his work with Director of Scouting for the NBA, Marty Blake.

"I'm very excited about this opportunity," said Planells. "The chance to come to Casper gives my family and I everything we're looking for." "We're looking forward to becoming a part of the Casper community."

Planells went on to say, "What it is really exciting is to be able to start at ground level, build an organization and put the pieces in place to win a championship."

"As we examined Hernando's background we received very positive remarks from Marty Blake for his ability to spot talent," said Worth Christie, President and CEO of the Wyoming Golden Eagles. "What really is exciting about Hernando, though, is his personality. We have found him to be very outgoing and personable which will help him to integrate into the Casper community very quickly."

Wyoming will open their inaugural season in November and will play a 62 game schedule. 31 home games will be played in the Casper Events Center.
