PIFL Welcomes Georgia Fire

Nashville, TN (February 26, 2014) - In an announcement made today, the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) officially named the Georgia Fire, an expansion franchise based out of Rome, Georgia, as the eighth franchise to compete during the 2014 season.
Along with a great location for other league partners, Rome is part of the Atlanta TV Market. Following the recent announcement that the Albany Panthers would not participate in the 2014 scheduled season, league management worked diligently to make sure the league schedule would go on with minimal changes. The Georgia Fire will assume the former Albany Panthers schedule of dates and will compete in the American Conference along with the Alabama Hammers, Columbus Lions, and Nashville Venom.
The Fire will bring the high quality, faced paced, wall to wall action that is Indoor Football to The Forum in Rome beginning with their Home Opener on April 5th at 7:00 p.m. against the defending Champion Alabama Hammers. Led by Head Coach Cos Dematteo, the Fire will assume the former signed roster of the Albany Panthers with additional player signings to come. Like all PIFL member teams, the Georgia Fire will be allowed to bring 40 players to their March 15th training camp, and must cut down to 27 by their opener.
