PIFL Names Players of the Week

NASHVILLE, TN (April 22, 2014) - The Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) announces that Nashville Venom QB Alex Carder, Harrisburg Stampede DL Amara Kamara, and Nashville Venom K Garrett Morgan are the Week 4 Players of the Week.
The Nashville Venom improved to 3-0 with a dominating 58-28 victory over the defending PIFL Champion and still winless Alabama Hammers (0-4). Led by rookie quarterback and Week 4 Offensive Player of the Week Alex Carder, the Venom remained undefeated thanks to Carder completing 25 of 41 passes for 297 yards and five touchdowns. Already in two games versus the Hammers, Carder has combined to throw 12 touchdowns staking the Venom to an early 1.5 game lead in the PIFL's National Conference.
Backed by a strong defensive unit that created four turnovers including intercepting two passes on their first two possessions, the Harrisburg Stampede (2-2) ended their two-game losing streak on Saturday when they soundly defeated the Richmond Raiders (1-3) 48-27. For his efforts, DL Amara Kamara is the honorary recipient of the first-ever Zoombang Defensive Player of the Week leading all pass rushers for the week along with tying the all-time PIFL single-game high with four sacks in one game.

In Friday night's demolishing of the defending champs, the Nashville Venom were firing on all cylinders in all three facets of the game. Venom Kicker Garrett Morgan earned the Week 4 Vidswap.com Special Teams Player of the Week after leading all kickers in scoring with 11 points behind going a perfect 9 for 9 on PAT attempts as well as notching his second and third Uno's on the young season.
