PIFL Announces Baynes as 2014 Coordinator of Officials

NASHVILLE, TN (January 16, 2014) - The Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) announces that Allen Baynes as the Director of Officials for the upcoming 2014 season. As a current NFL side judge official with over 19 years of officiating experience, Baynes has worked with the PIFL since its inaugural season in 2012. This season he will move from grader position where he evaluated the official's performances, to the Director of Officials for the league.

In his new post, Allen will oversee all aspects of training, evaluating, and implementing a digital continuing process for officials throughout the course of the season. He will also join hands with the National Football League on methodologies, rule interpretations, and prospecting up and coming officials.

During his officiating career, Baynes has overseen games such as the 2014 AFC Divisional game, 2013 NFC Championship Game, 2011-12 NFL Wild Card games, and the 2006 NFL Europe World Bowl. In addition he has also worked in arena football from 2000-2008 and collegiately during the 2001-2008 seasons in Conference USA.

Baynes is a graduate of Auburn University where he received his B.A. in Spanish with a Minor in History. He resides in Birmingham, AL where he is a real estate agent and is a father of two with his wife Christy. Along with his father Ron, Allen runs a Baynes Baseball Academy which most recently captured the 2012 15U USSSA State Championship in Alabama.

The 2014 PIFL season kicks off on Saturday March 22nd when the Nashville Venom makes their inaugural debut in Albany against the Panthers.
