Traverse City North Stars News Release
TRAVERSE CITY - Five different players scored for the visiting Mahoning Valley Phantoms on Friday night at Centre ICE arena, and goalkeeper Ryan Zapolski made the host Traverse City North Stars work for everything they got - which was one goal in a 5-1 setback to the NAHL North's top club.
The Phantoms scored once in the first and once in the second, and grabbed a 3-0 lead five minutes into the third before Harrison Niemann got Traverse City on the board with just under six minutes to play. Patrick Nagorsen and Ben Plocar assisted.
Mahoning (33-10-1) got a pair of late goals - including Nathan Longpre's marker with about a half minute to play - to make it a four-goal differential on the scoresheet.
The Phantoms visit Centre ICE again on Saturday night to take on TC (15-25-5), with the face-off slated for 7 p.m.
