Phantoms' Second Round Schedule Set

YOUNGSTOWN, OH (Monday, April 13th, 2009) - The Mahoning Valley Phantoms have set their schedule for the North Division Finals against the U.S. National Team in the 2009 Robertson Cup Playoffs.
The second-seeded Phantoms open second round play on the road against the top-seeded Nationals on Thursday, April 16th, for Game One of the divisional finals at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube. The puck will drop on the best-of-five series at 7:00 PM from southeast Michigan.
Game Two will be Friday, April 17th, at the Ice Cube, also at 7:00 PM.
In five games in Ann Arbor this season, the Phantoms held a 2-3-0 mark against the Nationals.
Following the second contest, the series will take a five-day break before Game Three at downtown Youngstown's Chevrolet Centre on Thursday, April 23rd, at 7:15 PM.
If necessary, Game Four would be Friday, April 24th, at the Centre with a 7:15 PM start.
The Phantoms are 16-5-1 at the Chevrolet Centre in 2008-2009, including a 3-2-0 home record against Team USA.
Should the best-of-five set go the distance, the two sides would head back to Ann Arbor for a decisive Game Five at the Ice Cube on Saturday, April 25th, once again at 7:00 PM.
The Phantoms and Nationals split their ten-game regular season series at five wins a side.
Team USA used a four-win surge over the final week of the regular season to overtake Mahoning Valley for the top spot in the North, earning them home ice advantage throughout the divisional playoffs.
All Phantoms Robertson Cup Playoff games will be broadcast locally on ESPN Radio 1240, WBBW-AM, and worldwide at MVPPhantoms.com via B2 Networks. The pregame shows will begin 15 minutes prior to the start of each contest.
