Phantoms Make History

The Youngstown Phantoms Hockey Team of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) is the first team in the NAHL and all of Jr. Hockey to offer a live video broadcast of their home games.

Now all Youngstown Phantoms fans can watch the games over the internet, despite their location. The video broadcast can be activated by either a dial up connection or a high speed connection therefore, the audio and video for the remaining home games can be seen and heard over the internet. The Youngstown Phantoms play all of their home games at the Ice Zone on McClurg Road in Boardman, but the games can now be viewed across the country.

The Youngstown Phantoms are currently the only hockey team in Junior hockey that has a live video broadcast of their home games. The games are broadcast in real time and are not taped on a delay. The fact that the games are live makes the video broadcast even more unique.

The Youngstown Phantoms games are also broadcasted on WBBW 1240 AM The Fan, which is an ESPN affiliate. For the remainder of the season the Youngstown Phantoms Saturday home games will be heard across the airwaves and all NOW all of the remaining home games can also be seen and heard over the internet.

Phantoms Appearance at Cinemark's Tinseltown USA

The Youngstown Phantoms Hockey Team of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) will be appearing at Cinemark's Tinseltown USA on Sunday, February 22, 2004 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. and 3:00-4:00 p.m. The Youngstown Phantoms will be there signing autographs and displaying official ice hockey equipment as an introduction to the movie "Miracle".

The Youngstown Phantoms and Cinemark's Tinseltown USA will be raffling off two hockey baskets during the month of February. The baskets will include licensed Phantoms merchandise, tickets to a Youngstown Phantoms hockey game, passes to see "Miracle" and various other items supplied by both Tinseltown and the Phantoms. Tickets for the raffle can be purchased at the Ice Zone on McClurg Road in Boardman and at Cinemark's Tinseltown USA. Raffle Tickets are 3 for $1.00 and can be purchased between February 14th and February 22nd. All proceeds will go directly to the local chapter of the Special Olympics. No purchase is necessary to buy the tickets and the winner will be notified by the end of February. The drawing for the winners of both baskets will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22nd at Cinemark's Tinseltown USA in Boardman.

Anyone that brings in their ticket stub from Tinseltown for the movie "Miracle" between February 14th and February 22nd will receive a free ice skating session with the purchase of an ice skating session.
