
Phantoms "Live United" for March 13th Game

YOUNGSTOWN, OH (Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009) - The Mahoning Valley Phantoms will once again team up with the United Way next weekend at the Chevrolet Centre.
The Phantoms-in conjunction with the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley-be hosting "United Way Night" during their Friday, March 13th, game against the second-place Traverse City North Stars. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
50% of all tickets sold by the United Way will benefit the programs funded by the organization's local chapter, keeping the money right here in the Valley.
"Partnering with the Phantoms will not only raise money for the programs we support in the Mahoning Valley, but also allow us to work with another community minded organization," said Bob Hannon, President and Chief Professional Officer of the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.
Next Friday's game marks the second time this season the Phantoms have partnered with the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley, as players and staff took part in the United Way's Day of Caring in September.
The Phantoms spent the day with students from the Potential Development Program School for Autism, including a nature hike and lunch at Boardman Park with the kids.
Phantoms Team President Bruce J. Zoldan welcomes the opportunity for the organization to partner again with the local United Way.
"The Phantoms are thrilled to be working again with the United Way," says Zoldan, "because both organizations are committed to the Valley. It is a privilege for our team to be able to help raise these critical funds for our local United Way."
