Peoria team announces first tryout camp

Peoria, IL. The new Peoria entry in the American Basketball Association announced today that they will hold their first Open Tryout on Friday, June 30th in Champaign, Illinois. The team is looking for talented, motivated and responsible players to fill out their 12 man roster.

"The Central Illinois area has an incredible amount of basketball talent and we aim to hold tryouts in Champaign, Bloomington and Peoria over the summer," said Vice President and GM Mike Van Antwerp. Head Coach Sergio McClain's team will begin play in November.

Candidates must be 18 years of age and out of high school. Participation in the open tryouts may jeopardize a players' NCAA eligibility. Players should wear appropriate shoes and shirts and come ready to compete. Registration is required and all fees are non-refundable. The cost for the tryout is $100 in advance and is due by June 26. The fee for walk-ins is $150. Registration forms can be downloaded at www.prairiebasketball.com or you can call 217 530 1535 and a form will be mailed to you.
