Pensacola Power News Release
The Pensacola Pelicans set an American Association record with 28 hits Wednesday as they pounded the Shreveport Sports 18-6 at Fair Grounds Field. The Pelicans scored in every inning except the first and ninth and had at least one hit in every inning except the ninth. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Sports and it was the first time in seven games this year that Pensacola had beaten the Sports at Fair Grounds Field. The lone bright spot for the Sports was Deacon Burns who had four hits including a home run in the first inning that gave the Sports their only lead of the game. The Sports will now open up a seven-game road trip with a single game at Coastal Bend Thursday. Game time will be 7:05 with the broadcast on AM 1130, KWKH. The Sports will return home on August 10th.
