
Penn FC Signs Pedro Galvao and Mauro Eustaquio

Harrisburg, PA - Penn FC announced on Friday the signings of former FC Edmonton midfielders Pedro Galvão and Mauro Eustaquio. The Portuguese veterans will continue their professional soccer careers with the Central PA club, pending USL and USSF approval.
Galvão gained experience with numerous Portuguese professional leagues from 2008 to 2016 before signing with FC Edmonton. His career in Portugal featured stints at Tourizense, Pampilhosa, Fatima, Seratense, and Gil Vicente where he made a combined 91 appearances. At FC Edmonton, Galvão was a dynamic defender who could transition into a winger at a moment's notice. He joined the Eddies late in the 2016 season and made nine appearances. In 2017, he was averaging 86 minutes per game and finished the season with 24 starts in 25 appearances. Galvão has already scored one goal for Penn FC after appearing in the first 2018 preseason game against LIU Brooklyn on Feb. 16, hoisting his new squad to a 2-1 victory.
Eustaquio split time in Canada and Portugal during his youth and senior careers, making appearances with the Canadian U20 and U23 National teams. He began his professional career at Sporting Pombal in 2012 where he logged 23 appearances before joining his hometown club, Nazarenos, in 2013. There, he notched three goals in 13 appearances. Eustaquio returned to Canada in 2014 to play for Ottawa Fury, competing in 47 matches and contributing two goals before the team moved to the USL. In 2017, he signed with NASL club FC Edmonton and acquired one goal, one assist, and 1,115 minutes on the pitch in 18 appearances.
Galvao and Eustaquio will make their USL debuts with Penn FC in its inaugural season. The current roster is as follows:
