Pedro Hernández Returns for 2024 Season

The Chattanooga Red Wolves are excited to announce the return of Pedro Hernández, pending league and federation approval. Pedro's return will mark his third season with Chattanooga.

Hernández ended the 2023 season with two goals and three assists, scoring against Charlotte Independence on June 24th and North Carolina FC on July 29th. The midfielder and outside back played 29 games for the Chattanooga Red Wolves recording 1,648 minutes with 18 starts in addition to 36 tackles won with 72% accuracy, 18 clearances, and 22 interceptions. Hernández earned a spot on the USL League One Team of the Week in Week 24 where he had a pair of assists in the 4-4 thriller against South Georgia Tormenta FC.

Pedro joined the Chattanooga Red Wolves for his first professional contract after attending an open professional combine in Los Angeles, CA in December 2022. In the 2022 season, Hernández recorded two goals across 11 appearances for the Red Wolves and 44 completed passes with a 70.5% passing rate. His two goals of the 2022 season came on June 22nd against Charlotte Independence and July 30th against Union Omaha.

"Pedro showed great growth and development in 2023 as a full back," shared head coach Scott Mackenzie of Hernandez's transition to the backline. "He is a great culture guy, a top leader and has the potential to be one of the best full backs in the league. I know after last season he is hungry and motivated to improve the results and chase much bigger fish. I love working with players who work, who are committed and who enjoy the process. Pedro is that type of player."

The Chattanooga Red Wolves will begin their 2024 season on the road against Lexington SC on Saturday, March 15th before returning to CHI Memorial Stadium for their home opener on Saturday, March 30th. Season tickets are available to purchase online.
