
PDL Names Frischknecht Player of the Week

TAMPA, Fla. - BYU Cougars forward Blake Frischknecht has been voted the Premier Development League Player of the Week after recording two goals against FC Tucson on Friday.
On the road at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona, Frischknecht caused problems all game long for FC Tucson, leading the Cougars to a 3-0 win against their Mountain Division foe.
GK - Brenden Ottman, BYU Cougars: Ottman recorded nine saves in two games against FC Tucson, securing a shutout in the team's season opener on Friday. D - Rafael Santana, FC Golden State Force: Santana helped the Force record back-to-back shutout wins - a 4-0 home victory over San Francisco City FC on Friday and a 6-0 win on the road against the Orange County SC U23 on Sunday. D - Sergi Nus, Fresno Fuego: The University of Virginia talent played all 90 minutes at center back for the Fuego in the PDL Game of the Week on Saturday, playing a pivotal role in helping his side earn a shutout against Burlingame Dragons FC. D - Ben Brewster, San Francisco City FC: Brewster helped San Francisco City FC earn its first win of the season against the Ventura County Fusion on Sunday, recording a goal while helping his side keep a clean sheet. D - Gabriel Rude, San Diego Zest FC: Rude looked strong in 90 minutes of action, as well as recorded one shot, in San Diego Zest FC's shutout win against the Southern California Surf on Saturday, M - Leonardo Nogueira, FC Golden State Force: Nogueira scored two goals in the FC Golden State Force's 4-0 win against San Francisco City FC on Friday. M - Kyle Jones, Calgary Foothills FC: Jones netted three goals in Week 1 of the PDL, scoring two in Calgary Foothills FC's come-from-behind 4-3 win against the TSS FC Rovers on Friday and one in the club's 2-0 victory against the Rovers on Sunday. M - Shinya Omata, San Diego Zest FC: Omata recorded the game-winning assist for San Diego Zest FC and created multiple opportunities moving forward against the Southern California Surf on Saturday. F - Ajeej Sarkaria, Calgary Foothills FC: The University of Alberta standout scored one goal in Calgary Foothills FC's 4-3 comeback win against the TSS FC Rovers on Friday and netted another goal in his side's 2-0 win vs. the Rovers on Sunday. F - Blake Frischknecht, BYU Cougars: Frischknecht led the BYU Cougars to an impressive 3-0 win against FC Tucson in Arizona, scoring the first and second goals in the match. F - Jose Cuevas, Fresno Fuego: Cuevas netted the first and second goals in the PDL Game of the Week, leading the Fresno Fuego to a 4-0 victory against Burlingame Dragons FC.
