Both teams fought tooth and nail throughout the game, and at the end of regulation both squads were knotted at 93-93. In the overtime, however, the Frost Heaves pulled ahead, as Halifax's fowl accuracy at foul shots cost them the win, 111-105 in OT. The last time Lawton-Fort Sill faced the Maryland Greenhawks, the Oklahoma crew scored a team-high 161 points against the Hawks. On Saturday night at Georgetown Prep, the score wasn't as high, but the Cavs still won the battle 105-99. Shawn Daniels dominated on the basket, going 16-for-24 from the floor en route to 37 team-high points; Daniels also had 10 rebounds. DeAnthony Bowden and Tim Ellis had 14 points apiece; Elvin Mims had 13 points, including a two-hand jam that actually brought the backboard down; Mims' slam had jostled the cotter pin that kept the backboard in an upright position, and when the pin came out, the backboard collapsed. The board was restored three minutes later, and Lawton went on to victory.
Then, in front of a sellout crowd at the Great Plains Coliseum on Sunday night, the top two teams in the PBL - Lawton-Fort Sill and Puerto Rico - battled in an epic match. And thanks to 22 points from Barndon Dean, 19 points and three blocked shots from Elvin Mims, and 14 off the bench from Shaun Fountain, the Cavalry held off Puerto Rico 105-97. Wayne Marshall had 11 points and 8 rebounds, while DeAnthony Bowden notched 12 points on the scoreboard.

New signee Derick Payne showed his worth, adding 24 points; Scooter Sherrill put 22 on the board. Derrick Mercer had a team-high 12 assists for Maryland.

But unlike the last time these two teams met, there would be no fourth-quarter rally by Puerto Rico, and the Capitanes were turned away, 105-97 in their second loss of the year.
