In old movies about the Wild West, the cavalry arrived just in time to save the day. And in Lawton-Fort Sill's case, this Cavalry is arriving at just the right time. In a Tuesday night road tussle with the Manchester Millrats, the Cavs relied on 24 points from Rashad Woods, 21 points from DeAnthony Bowden and an 18-point, 11-rebound performance from Elvin Mims to curtail Manchester 104-88. Shawn Daniels led the Cavs with 7 assists; Brandon Dean and Elvin Mims had three steals apiece.
Two days later, it was a matchup of two upper-division teams at Blue Cross Arena, as the Cavs took on the Rochester Razorsharks for the first time. Both teams put on a defensive battle, with Lawton coming out on top 97-90. DeAnthony Bowden led the Cavs in scoring with 18 points; Jamaal Davis added 15, while Rashad Woods and Brandon Dean had 13 points apiece. Shawn Daniels had a hot rebounding night, as he pulled down twelve team-high boards. Elvin Mims led the team with three blocked shots.
