PASL-Pro Weekly - Week 5

Published on December 10, 2009 under Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) News Release

The Waza Strike Back

12/9/09 - The Detroit Waza was coming off two straight brutal losses and the 1790 Cincinnati Express was undefeated at 3-0. When these two teams met on Sunday it had the potential to put a lot of distance between the defending Eastern Division champions and their division rivals.

Instead, Detroit dropped a 10-spot on the league's top defensive team. Their 10-6 win keeps the division very much wide open. Drew Ducker (two goals, three assists) and Matt Johnson (goal, three assists) had big nights for the Waza.

Expansion Louisville got a statement win, 7-5, in St. Louis where the Illusion were 6-2 last year. The Lightning sit just a half game behind the Express.

PASL-Pro Game Action

Saturday saw the Sockers juggernaut roll on with a 15-5 win over the Denver Dynamite. On Sunday, the Dynamite showed a lot of pluck, but fell 9-8 to the California Cougars in Turlock, CA. San Diego is 5-0 and Denver is 0-4.

The Ohio Vortex fell to 0-2 in their expansion campaign with an 8-6 loss to Cincinnati.

KICK STARTERS - Conversations you should be having about the PASL-Pro

Keegan Hudson, Texas Outlaws

The second year Outlaw had a breakout game with four goals and an assist against the St. Louis Illusion. His hat trick plus one propped up an injury-depleted Texas lineup and propelled the Outlaws to an easy 9-3 win over the Illusion.

Brian Farber, California Cougars

The reigning PASL-Pro MVP showed the explosiveness fans grew accustomed to last year with three goals and two assists against the Denver Dynamite. Farber had just one goal and one assist through the season's first two games. His point scoring streak is now up to 19 games.
