PASL-Pro Announces Inaugural Schedule

September 5, 2008 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) News Release

The Professional Arena Soccer League announced its regular season schedule for the 2008/09 season today. Each of the league's 8 US and 4 Canadian teams will play a 16 game unbalanced schedule that begins with an October 25 clash with the Stockton Cougars hosting the Colorado Lightning, and ends with two games on March 8.

The Wenatchee Fire play their first home game in the new Town Toyota Center on November 15. The Texas Outlaws are the last team to open when they host the Saskatoon Accelerators on November 16.

The Denver Dynamite open international play when they travel to Winnipeg for games on November 1 and 2 against the Alliance. The Dynamite open their intrastate rivalry with Colorado, the first of four meetings, on December 6 at the Denver Sports Center.

Potential expansion teams, Springfield, and Charleston, will each play four league games to round out the schedule. The 2009 expansion San Diego Sockers will travel to Stockton for an exhibition game on November 9.

The schedule consists of one Wednesday game, two Thursday games, nine Friday games, 43 Saturday games, and 21 Sunday games, placing 96% of the schedule on fan friendly weekend dates.

"Out of this chaotic offseason for arena soccer comes order," said PASL-Pro Commissioner Kevin Milliken. "We've emerged from the pack as a viable entity and things are really shaping up for us to have a great first season."

The remaining portion of the Canadian Division schedule as well as the entire Mexican Division schedule will be released in the near future. Arena Open Cup games and dates as well as additional exhibition games will also be announced at a later date.

PASL-Pro is a new professional arena soccer league whose inaugural season kicks off October 25, 2008 when the Stockton Cougars host the Colorado Lightning. PASL-Pro consists of 8 US teams, the CMISL, and LMFR. The San Diego Sockers and a yet-to-be-named team in Utah have been added for the 2009/10 season. PASL-Premier just completed its 10th season as the nation's top amateur arena soccer league. PASL-Pro and PASL-Premier are members of Federacion Internacional de Futbol Rapido (FIFRA).
