
Parker Sold to Rockies

Durham, NCâJackson Senators closer Brandon Parker has been sold to the Colorado Rockies. In Parker's two seasons in Jackson, he lead the Central League in saves, (42). The Senators RHP helped Jackson to its first Central League championship posting the fifth highest single season save total in league history with 22 in 2003.
The Seattle Mariners selected Parker in the second round of the 1997 draft. In five seasons in the Mariners organization, Parker advanced up to single-A, where he saved 22 games for the Lancaster JetHawks of the California League in 2000.
In his two seasons in Jackson, Parker was a part of two trips to the Central League Championship Series, winning his first professional title in 2003. Over his two-year career in Jackson, Parker was 1-4 with a 2.40 ERA in 68 appearances. Parker allowed the opposition a measly .174 batting average against him in both 2002 and 2003.
Parker is the third player from the Central League to be sold to a major league organization in this off-season.
