March 18, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans Vice President of Hockey Operations Ted Nolan announced today that the Florida Panthers have reassigned forward *Michal Repik* to the Amerks.
Repik, 20, returns to Rochester after earning his eighth promotion to the National Hockey League. Repik was in the lineup for three games with the Panthers, capping his latest stint with a goal in Florida's 7-3 loss to the Washington Capitals Tuesday night at the BankAtlantic Center.
A native of Vlasim, Czech Republic, Repik has recorded three goals and two assists for five points in 19 games this season with the Panthers. In 24 career NHL games, all with the Panthers, the second-year pro has collected seven points (5+2) and six penalty minutes.
In 48 American Hockey League contests with Rochester this season, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound forward has registered 41 points (21+20), good enough for fifth on the team, and is one of only three goal-scorers to reach the 20-goal plateau. Repik was the Panthers' second-round selection (40thoverall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
The Amerks kickoff their three-game road swing on Friday, March 19th as they travel to Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena to battle the Binghamton Senators. The 7:05 p.m. contest will be the ninth of 10 scheduled meetings between the non-divisional rivals and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk.
