
Panthers Announce Championship Parade

ALBANY, GA - The Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) 2012 Champion Albany Panthers (12-2) will hold a Championship Parade on Wednesday, July 4th at 5pm. The parade will start on Pine Avenue by the Albany Herald Building and end at the Amphitheater on Front Street.
The Panthers captured its second championship, June 30th on Phoebe Field at the Albany James H. Gray Civic Center. The Panthers rallied from a 43-43 tie to defeat the Richmond Raiders, 60-56. On Wednesday, The Felines, Albany Panthers Marching Band, Youth Indoor Football League participants, Youth Indoor Cheer and Dance teams, as well as the players and staff will transport the PIFL Champions Cup through the streets in a caravan of vehicles that will include cars driven by the fans.
Players confirmed to attend the festivities include Team Captain Cecil Lester, 2012 PIFL Championship Game MVP Antwontis Cutts, Larry Edwards, and Derrick Wimbush.
"I have a great sense of pride in being an Albanian, knowing how much football means to this region," said Antwone Savage. "Seeing the excitement of the fans lets us know how much the team means to them."
The players will be joined by Panthers Owner Rod Chappell, General Manager Will Carter, Head Coach Lucious Davis, Director of Community Development Elizabeth Faircloth, Head Athletic Trainer Jeff Tanner, Equipment Manager Detavious Poole, Broadcaster Eric Tabor and front office staff.
