Paints will host NAIA Region IX Tournament this week

A field of six college baseball teams will compete in the NAIA Region IX Tournament being played in Chillicothe this week, beginning on Wednesday, May 7th and ending on Saturday, May 10th. The tournament is being hosted by the Chillicothe Paints Professional Baseball Club.
The competing teams, all members of the American Mideast Conference, include Ohio Dominican University, Malone College, Point Park College (PA), Tiffin University, Mt. Vernon Nazarene University and Shawnee State University.
The tournament will get underway with five games on Wednesday, May 7th. An 11:00 a.m. game at Ross County Park will kick off the tourney. There will also be games at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at Ross County Park and games at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at V. A. Memorial Stadium.
The tournament will continue on Thursday, May 8th with one game at Ross County Park, starting at 2:00 p.m., and two games at V. A. Memorial Stadium, starting at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. On Friday, May 9th, the championship finals will be played at V. A. Memorial stadium at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. If necessary, a final game will be at V. A. Memorial Stadium, starting at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10th.
This is a great opportunity for baseball fans in southern Ohio to see some outstanding collegiate teams and talented players," said John Wend, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Chillicothe Paints. "Several of the players in the tournament are expected to be drafted by the Major Leagues organizations."
Single game admission tickets are $4.00 each. All day tickets are available for $6.00 and all-tournament passes are $11.00. Tickets will be available at the gate and at the Chillicothe Paints' offices in downtown Chillicothe. You can call the Paints' office (740-773-8326) for more information.
