Paints Take Opener, 2-1 over Kokomo
June 2, 2018 - Prospect League (Prospect)
Chillicothe Paints News Release
Due to a rain out on Wednesday and a scheduled off day Thursday, the Chillicothe Paints had to wait an extra two days to begin their 2018 Prospect League campaign. Although the Paints are behind in the number of games played, they are not behind in wins.
The Paints hosted the Kokomo Jackrabbits and defeated them 2-1Â Friday in front of more than 3,800 fans at VA Memorial Stadium.
Kokomo out-hit Chillicothe 6-2, but the Paints scored two runs in the second inning thanks to a double by Jacob Gleason, a walk by Andrew Czech, a sacrifice fly by Michael Ryan, and a double by Drew DeVine.
The Paints were supported by shut down pitching from starting pitcher Zack Harvey, who gave up four hits and struck out seven Jackrabbits.
