Deciding what to do over the Memorial Day Weekend?

Look no further than V. A. Memorial Stadium, the home of the Chillicothe Paints Professional Baseball Club.

If you love gigantic fireworks shows, clowns, and contests, and you would like to win prizes, or even a free car, than the Paints have the perfect holiday weekend planned for you.

The Paints open the 2003 Frontier League season on Friday, May 23rd against the league's new expansion team, the Florence Freedom. The Freedom, managed by former Cincinnati Reds great, Chris Sabo, will be in Chillicothe for a three-game series. Friday and Saturday's games start at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday's game is set for a 6:05 p.m. start.

A gigantic fireworks show and a free car giveaway will highlight "Nourse Chillicothe Auto Mall Opening Night" on Friday. On Saturday night, the first 500 fans entering the gate will receive a beautiful 2003 Paints' magnetic schedule sponsored by Maleine Davis / Fran Francis Realty and the evening's grand prize, a $500.00 gift certificate from E.M. Smith Jewelers, will be awarded to a lucky fan.

Sunday night's game will be the first of seven "Klinker's Kids' Days" during the season. During every Sunday home game this season, children 12 and under will be admitted for just $1.00 and they will be permitted to "Run the Bases" after the game! There will also be special games and contests provided for the youngsters during the entire evening.

Another fireworks spectacular will be held following Sunday's game in observing the Memorial Day Holiday.

Individual game tickets and season tickets may be purchased in advance at the Paints' Gift Shop in downtown Chillicothe or by calling (740) 773-TEAM (8326). The Paints' Gift Shop will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
