Paints Lead League in Attendance Again, Rank 15th Nationally

September 3, 2019 - Prospect League (Prospect) - Chillicothe Paints News Release

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The 2019 Prospect League Champion Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, once again led the Prospect League in both overall attendance and per-game average attendance.

This season, the Paints hosted an average of 2,037 fans at VA Memorial Stadium this season, more than any other team in the league for the sixth consecutive season and seventh time in the 11-year history of the league. The 2,037 average attendance was 481 more than the next-highest average in the league. It also marks the highest average attendance for one season in league history and is just the second time a Prospect League team has averaged 2,000 fans or more (Danville averaged 2,027 in 2011).

"We are grateful and humbled by the support we get from our incredible fans every season here in Chillicothe," said Paints managing partner Bryan Wickline. "Leading the league in attendance six years in a row is a testament to the hard work by our entire staff and shows the loyalty of our dedicated fans."

The Paints' total attendance for the 2019 season was 57,040 over 28 openings, the second-highest total for the franchise in its 11 seasons in the Prospect League (the Paints totaled 58,755 fans with two more openings in the 2017 season). The total is also 16,581 more than the second-highest attendance in the league in 2019. It's the tenth time the Paints have led the Prospect League in total attendance.

"We are very proud to call southern Ohio the home of the Paints," Wickline added. "It's a special place that has been a pleasure to operate in for 27 seasons, we can't wait for the 28th to begin in late May of 2020."

According to a list compiled by Ballpark Digest (www.ballparkdigest.com) of summer collegiate teams from across the country, the Paints ranked 15th in both per-game average and total attendance in 2019.
