Paints Fall to Miners 11-4

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, gave up double-digit runs in a game for just the fifth time this season in an 11-4 loss to the West Virginia Miners at VA Memorial Stadium Thursday night.

The Paints (28-16) didn't help themselves with early walks and four errors throughout the game.

West Virginia (15-29) scored six unearned runs in the game, including all five runs they scored in the fourth inning to take an 8-1 lead.

Chillicothe's Cody Orr went 3-for-4 on the night and Trey Smith went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. One of the Paints' newest players, Tyler Wagner, hit a pinch-hit, two-out, RBI double in his first at bat of the summer in the sixth inning.

The Paints are now 11-2 against the Miners this season with seven games remaining in the season series. The next installment is Friday at VA Memorial Stadium at 7:05 p.m.
